A customer wants 100 images of head shot only. Do I need to ask him to pose or just move his head around? Do a head shot involve from the neck up or shoulder or from chest?

He's going to have to do some posing, unless he wants 100 copies of the same photo.

I would include the shoulders in the shot, at least.

I would make a list of questions to ask him, to elicit a range of emotional responses. Like, "Where did you lose your virginity?" Who are you going to vote for in November?"

Just tell him to THINK about the questions, but NOT give an answer. Otherwise, it could go somewhere you aren't ready for.

You might also pick some funny hats or glasses, or other props to use.

100 is a LOT of pics.

I'll ask my question again.
A customer wants me to take 100 head shots. Do I need to ask to pose or just ask him to move this head around? Does a head shot invole from the neck up, from the shoulders or can it also involve the chest?

What type of questions can I ask a 9 year old to get an emotional response for the head shots that I will be taking?

Is this a 9 y/o boy, or a girl?

What questions do you suggest I ask a 9 year old to get an emotional response for the head shots that I will be doing?

Welcome to UHH. The 100 photos are of the one 9 year old? Good luck.

For a boy:

Anything to do with bodily functions: farting, burping. Building things, breaking things, girls with cooties. Teachers, classes at school, sports, movies, television. Get him to talk to you about those things, and his face will show a range of emotions.

9 years old, I would consider props as much as questions.

Questions like Do you have a girlfriend?
Favorite music group, who is running for president, do you like sardines in your egg salad sandwich... questions like this should give you blushing, excitement, confusion, disgust, etc. Make sure you do not bring in fear till the end.
props like hex bugs, pink bunny, Popsicle, messy food (fun shot), sand box, anything to distract the boys attention and create different looks on his face and add something to the face so that there is interest in the photos. Sour candy is another idea.

Add a space helmet or hard hat to mix it up a bit... even a Halloween mask on top of his head will change the seasons.

Are you doing 100 copies of the same pose? Or 100 different poses?
