Bought the lens couple of days ago to try out. I'm the second owner. Original owner purchased it from Bestbuy couple of months ago.

I too briefly owned this lens...my copy was very soft and the zoom stiff. Did you find the same problems with yours?

Zoom is definitely stiff but it's a good thing as it restricts zoom creep. As for being soft, wide open (specially at longer FL) it is definitely soft but it's normal for superzooms. Stop down the lens and it gets much better.

I probably just had a bad copy, I couldn't get acceptably sharp photos even at F9 and at smaller apertures the image deteriorated even more.
