This looks very interesting.
It says the waist band straps tuck away, if they truly do it may be a bag I would consider getting.

The 450 is on sale as well. $50 more for roughly an inch in depth and width plus more height. They both come in under 50 inches wxdxh for airline carry-on. The 350 works for me. I've had the 350b
backpack for a few years and will use both.

Just read some reviews on the 450 and they say it isn't for airline carry on.
I flew one time with an airline that banned all wheeled baggage for carry on.

It is well under the max for Southwest Airlines' 50 inch max. The 350 is a little smaller. I don't usually take reviews as 100% accurate,so I checked the airlines I fly most frequently.
I just checked United Airlines,their max is 45.0 inches. The 350 is 42.5 and the 450 is 46.9.

It seems crazy that the airlines cannot agree an international standard on what can and cannot be carried on board. You could board one aircraft, which your baggage complies with, then get a connecting flight and find that you cannot carry it on board.

Yes,that's one reason why I opted for the smaller one.
On Southwest it's very common to see way oversize and more carry-ons then their policies state. No big deal unless you have no room for your appropriate sized baggage because the rule breakers already got the space. The real shame is you can check two bags for free.

I worked in West Africa for over twenty years. You should have seen some of the "carry on's" Particularly at Lagos, Nigeria. I think my suitcase in the hold would have been smaller and lighter than some of the baggage brought on board.
