I briefly visited Nice in 1974, while in the US Navy.
I like that it is back lit creating a semi silhouette, it is very evocative of those times. Another piece of history.

That's a really neat photo. SNCF is the French National railway. I suppose this was the French version of our old REA, the Railway Express Agency.

Because the photo was taken in Nice, a port city of France on the French Riviera of the Mediterranean Sea, it wasn't really cold in our sense when I was there, although it was December, 1946. But it was chilly. Here's another shot taken on that same day in a side-street market area, Europeans were starving that winter.
