I guess this is Mitsumi Packaging Solutions' solution to keeping the milk fresh!

I don't think that bull would take kindly to trying to milk him. Perhaps a steak ;)

No bull that! Check the download and note the teats. She's not, however, in lactation.
I'm curious, Graham, about how many non -Brahma cattle you saw. I was under the impression the most cattle in India were Brahma (with long, pendant ears, dewlap, and a prominant hump)

I'm stuck at the DMV and was viewing on my phone. I still had to look very closely to confirm a cow. It looked to have bull parts, we're bull parts where one would expect them to be.

Lots of non Brahma cattle there Dave, much to my surprise too.

Love the title. Nope .. not a bull .. just a cow with depleted teats. We are used to seeing nice fat bags here in America. Love the way you shot this, with a nice diagonal going from the motorcyle to the cow .. interesting shot. I'm sure it tells a bit about how different things are there. We are not allowed to have cows or horses within city limits and I live in a small town.

Definitely a cow. I love this shot. She looks like she is just hanging out waiting for a hand out. Looks like she hasn't found the cleanest places to sleep either. But she is a cow and it seems that you can give them all the bedding in the world and they will sleep on the warm manure pile.
I don't see any cow pies in the little court yard. Must be someone cleans them up?

This is in the middle of Delhi, the cows are everywhere in the poorer districts. Although this one has a halter I don't think it is tethered. They wander out in the mornings after being fed on fodder then they forage amongst the rubbish all day before finding their own way home. Remember that, in India, the cow is a sacred animal so they are can wander unmolested.

This was taken in the middle of the old part of Delhi. Just behind the truck is a small yard where the cows a kept overnight. There is also a ramshackle shed , the dairy. The building you can see part of on the left of the frame was our hotel.... we sampled the real India :-)

Since they are sacred, is it okay to drink milk from the cows, or is that reserved for the calves?

The locals drink the milk and make butter and cheese with it.

Don't get too excited!
It's not cheese as you know it, it's quite rubbery in texture. It is called paneer and is used in cooking and seldom eaten as we eat cheese. It isn't particularly tasty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paneer

The keeping overnight in a pen explains the caked manure/mud on the cows.
