Had to go to Walmart to get some bleach and when I pulled into the Brooklyn Center strip mall, I noticed a lot of police activity. There were a couple of news cameras there as well.

I guess every Saturday, Foot Locker releases a new style of Air Jordans. The stores never have enough to appease the masses of 'pants on the ground' thugs looking to purchase another pair of $200+ sneakers. So of course, there will be fighting.
One the fighting spilled outside the store, there was a shooting.
We got there around 11:00 or so when the crime lab vehicle was there and they were doing their thing.

Seriously starting to wonder about my choice to move to Minnesota. At the risk of having this moved to the Attic, we checked the demographics before moving and have found the stats to be....false.

Those things will happen in any state. Not just MN.

And bleach is available at places other than a mall. Find a place away from Foot Locker.

True statements.

I lived the majority of my life in California. Did get out for a year or so when I was 15--Vancouver, WA. Totally different environment. Did have to deal with racism as it was more out in the open that what I'd seen in California. But since many people do not realize that I am Black, issues were rare.

I wonder if Vancouver has turned sour in the 30+ years since I left.

And here is a laugh for you--I always thought that there was a payless there....

We moved from California to where we are now because the city was small and quiet. When my neighbors asked where we were moving to, they called me a racist. You know what's wrong with moving there? Too many white people. Up until my final retirement, I've lived in mixed communities all my life and always felt that I fit in. Guess not. Or is it a bit of jealously on their part?

Personally I don't give a damn what color anyone is. It is what is in their heart and how they act.

Germans , Irish , Italians , Hispanics , Blacks etc . all had and have to deal with people not of their own kind . It's called human nature and no amount of social engineering or playing by the rules according to the Politically Correct playbook is going to change it .
Look into a mans eyes and then and only then does his skin color or different features become meaningless .
Having been born and raised in a city gutted by violence and social upheaval racism wasn't a word , it was reality . Whites and Blacks didn't get along . But at some point people grow up and you realize we are all just people . We are all struggling for a better life .
All this crap today about diversity etc . is nothing but an attempt to engineer some sort of perfect society . It will never happen . Humans have had and always will have bias , but to try to remove ourselves from some of our own biases can only occur when you look a man in the eyes and that starts with looking at yourself first .

Political correctness , is like most of us, when we were younger , and when he or she became interested in dating
he or she was on their best behiver , but eventually our true selves was revealed. Sometimes it was WoW I thought I knew you. These Politically Correct folks , are the same ,if we were around them we would see their imperfections ,they claim not have, So they need to get a life.

As I've mentioned to you I spent part of my misspent youth in Minnesota but in a small town so I was never exposed to crime there. Sorry, it's not only the weather it seems but the people that are causing problems. Best of luck.

It is a changing world for sure. If you do not protect your self, you are in trouble now days. And that is very sad!!!! I have 8 acres of woods and even tho I have signs every 10 feet on the fence saying NO HUNTING. I still get to drag about 6-8 folks a year out of my woods and hand cuff them to my gate! The police come and get them. Believe it or not, I have some that come back and try again????
