I started reporting on the nesting of two Bald Eagles on Lake Shawnee, Topeka, Kansas in November last year. Things are going well. Today I observed the male doing some maintenance on the nest. Other birders think there is a/are hatchling/s. I cannot confirm this, but timing is right. The nest is easily visable, but not easily accessible. Being located on a golf course has proven to be a blessing as the golfers have been respectful and except for the lakeside, access is not easy. A kayaker got close and the eagles were agitated, but the kayaker was confronted and educated about giving the eagles their space. There is a concerted effort to educate the public here in Topeka so we can all enjoy the eagles.
Great series! Hope they have babies soon!!
Great shots,I live stream eagles from all over the country and love watching them,Amazing.
Wow...that's really great. Thanks for sharing about this. I live in the Kansas City area and its' good to hear they are staying around.
Wow! I have been to Lake Shawnee lots of times and never gave a thought about eagles nesting there. I guess I was too busy throwing rocks at kayakers trying to capsize them.

This is first in recent times. The nest is on the south end of the lake and is visible from roads on the east and west side. I took these on the west side looking across the golf course. It's really exciting for us locals.
