Olympus EM5 and EM1, no regrets but some tradeoffs that don't matter much to me anyway (not as good with Birds in Flight but since I've never been much interested in BIF I didn't lose anything). It does fine for my needs (landscape, street photography, grandkids, soccer and baseball) and I never second guess myself about taking it with me, it is effortless.

Thanks Minniev.
I like photographing shorebirds, one thing Florida has is lots of shorebirds, so I'll have to keep that in mind.

I have not switched, I use both. I have a D610 and an A7 II. Both are 24 MP - as far as I want to go in this format. Both are excellent cameras that let me use my existing collection of lenses.

The two bodies each have advantages in different situations. My Nikon AF lenses won't AF on the Sony but the Sony can use my best Leica/Zeiss lenses and it's smaller and lighter.

Thanks Scotty.

There are people who get good results with BIF but I'm not one of em and I think it is a common shortcoming of mirrorless. The shorebirds standing around or walking are fine, I am quite friendly with the local herons and egrets, but a fast-flying osprey is a hit and miss undertaking.

I have some Nikon Dslr cameras and have not switched. But added Sony A7r mirrorless over a year ago. For my kind of photography I prefer the Sony and the mirrorless advantages most of the time. But I am not going to switch. Sometimes the Nikon cameras fit better for what I am doing and I like to have some choices also.

Thanks JPL.

I went from Nikon D90 to Sony a6000 and am very pleased and impressed with the capabilities of the Sony. I am not interested in going back. I do suggest you visit a store and handle various models to see what fits your hand and eye though.

My interest in photography was re-invigorated through buying a mirrorless system (Panasonic and Olympus). The ability to use many of my old 35mm lenses was a real bonus, whilst the modern lenses introduced me to the delights of image stabilisation.

But then I found I couldn't get quite the level of quality that I was after for my style of photography, so I've now reverted to Nikon DSLR and don't see myself moving back to mainstream mirrorless until they start delivering quality prime super-telephotos.

That said, for convenience the mirrorless sure is hard to beat.

I never told anyone here I was a Chippendale. How did you find out? and yes, we work till all hours of the night bringing some excitement to lonely women who's husbands spend more time with their cameras then they do with them.

thats why we get up so late..

Oh yea Mirrorless , no I like the feel of a big heavy DSLR . I guess when I get really old, say 40's then I may consider switching.

That would be a concern for me as well because I enjoy photographing shorebirds.

My first digital camera was a Nikon coolpix 950 (think that's the number), mirrorless. Went to a Nikon D5000 and didn't like not being able to see the shot just taken in the viewfinder. Now have Fuji X-T10, which I find awkward to use the controls and cannot get it to shoot a true "red" color, but like the mirrorless viewfinder and small size.

I would never switch but I would certainly add. Both systems have their advantages.
