Like everything about this one PAR4. Interesting window, guitar character, and dog with hurting earsÂ…..just splendid. Good use of texture.

Hi, Don,
If you just wanted the singer there are several crops that could work, but to include singer and dog...the composition I'd...difficult.
The dog's squint-eyed look makes me wonder if the dog's a critic!
Dave
I like your photo as is. You'd lose a lot if the dog, and subsequently the window with its reflection, were cropped out. To me, they are an integral part of the scene. As for the look on the dog's face, well, that's a natural one.

I like the image!!! but would have included the dogs paws in the image.
Thanks Frank, it is one of my favorites. Appreciate your comments.
Don
Thanks Dave. I do have a cropped version of just the singer but in this image cropping it would not go with the theme.
I think the dog is a agreeing critic because his supper is due soon!!!
Appreciate your critique.
Don
I agree with you John. If I cropped anything out, with the exception of a little on the left, I would lose the theme of the image. Appreciate your time and critique.
Don
Thought I had the paws in the image but after downloading and a close review I saw that I did not. Agree with you Manglesphoto, I would have liked to have seen them also.

I really, really like the picture! It has all the right elements. It is a charming, peaceful scene. For some reason I hear the guy singing in Spanish, and the dog is sleepy, not at all bothered. What bothers me is the crop, and if you cropped in the camera I'd suggest you cropped too tight from bottom and right. I'd prefer to see the whole dog. :D I don't shoot street because it's HARD! The situation is there and gone in the time it takes for the shutter to fire. If that's the crop ya got then, well, y'does the best you can. :) But if there's more on the bottom and right I'd include it.
Thanks for taking the time to view and comment Chuck. You are correct on a couple of points but singing in Spanish was not one of them.
You are correct in that shooting street photograph is hard. A sign, post, garbage can in the way and no angle can remove them but street is my favorite. Love interacting with the people.
You are also correct in wanting to see the entire dog. Thought I had it but when I viewed saw that I did not. I wanted it but was not to be.

What a moment! This is a performer I want to find! Good capture, great subjects/moment. I wish the dog had not got his forelegs amputated though. Did you get one with all legs in? It would be even better. Good processing, BTW.
WOW, thanks Minnie. Still kicking myself for missing all of the dogs legs & paws. Thought I had them but did not. I think I took this at last years French Quarter Fest. I think this years dates are April 5 thru the 7th. planning to attend at least the Friday and maybe one other day.

Don This is rather good and a nice bit of processing. To the dogs paws question ask WHY. Is it not quite obvious this this is a fully paid up member of the K9 club. How would the mutts paws make this image more enjoyable? Pray tell us.
No one noticed the dog is looking out of the frame? Sure that's against some rule written in some book somewhere.
This is street and different rules apply. 5 seconds after this was taken the dog moves sniffs his own butt or falls asleep the guy notices his picture is being taken and pulls a funny face etc etc . Street you take what you can when you can and pray its somewhere near.
Your prayer was answered Don its very nice
