I believe you will get one in do time my friend. Until then just know you will be humbled when it happens and changed forever, and you will remember being told so. They are not called grand for nothing.

Not referring to him as I was aware.....it the next generation that will change you, not that he hasn't.

Wonderful image Frank but those eyes should be in color that skin should be pink moist and glowing those lips should be just a tad darker pink.
In the past few weeks we have been treated to a bucket load of images presented in BW cos one can NOT because one should and this my friend falls firmly into that category.
Mr Nikon gave you a sensor that will accurately record all this little mites wonder and beauty. Let the baby shine and glow I say.
Is this a crop from a much larger image? Its a tad soft which would be perfect in color but looks slightly off in mono

Another non cropped image and you are correct about it being a bit soft. As for color I think it adds more ugly than is already there.lol Thanks for taking time.

Much prefer it Frank the mites eyes are alive now. Whether focused or not is a different matter. But babies invariably look better pink.

Too cute! I think I prefer the B&W version over the color.
My first grandchild is due to make her debut in about 3 weeks so it looks like I'll be getting some baby shots practice in soon.

More than likely my sixth and last is due in June. I wish you good health. I concur with you on b/w, thanks for taking time to comment H.

Definitely prefer the monochrome. Beautiful expression and nice soft capture. I know the hazards of baby photos, and you've got them here - distractions! - why do they put tags on everything from bathtubs to carriers to car seats to toys, right where you can't avoid them?

Deal with that stuff, get a bit more contrast, and maybe a bit of toning and you'll have a beautiful result.

Frank kindly told me I could practice on this sweet baby and post it, so of course I did.
