Welcome... don't be bothered if you don't always get a response , their shutters are not always open...
Welcome! Nice shots....keep posting -
Welcome and great photos.
Right before I take the dog out just let me say I don't reply to all posts because the resulting emails from the 'watched' list would bog me down all day instead of two hours a morning while I sip coffee.

Hi Lori,
I'm single, and I am commenting, so your comment above now holds no water... :-)
You will find a bunch of jokesters and a lot of great people on here. Just develop (pun instended) a thick skin. Some can be crotchety if you catch my drift. Welcome to UHH! Cheers.

the merekatis the bestofthe lot. love thecolor tone of the shot, the look on his face, and the fact you didn't place him dead center in the photo. so you avoided one rookie mistake. the gorilla,s background is overexposed causing it to be bright white like that. in the future you could set your exposure compensation to a negative number, shoot check your lcd, if neccesary increase negative ansd shoot again. or meter off the wall without the gorilla then use exp comp with a positive number. or you could do it simple by using a hot shoe flash.
Welcome to the UHH
Had problems with my service provider, been down for several days.
Welcome to the forum, Lori.
Don't be to impatient as far as response times. People aren't always on the same schedule as you are. (and no response after 48 minutes should in no way be taken personally)
Good shots you got at the zoo. The best being the meerkat who's saying defiantly, "go ahead, give it your best shot.." LOL
