Without seeing the color version, I have no way of knowing if this looks better monochrome. The converging and unplumbed verticals are annoying to me.

I think abc has a valid point with his first statement and certainly not wishing to add to your misery whilst the verticals do not bother me the total lack of anything of interest in the frame does.
Sorry mate I just cannot get my head around this one and its not through lack of trying. Still come back to the big question Why?

This is the kind of semi-abstract study popular in the 30's, 40's and 50's. The extended pattern is the point of interest. In any event, beauty is still in the eyes of the beholder.

It is well exposed and quite sharp. However, to my eye, it is devoid of anything of interest. I do not find the intersection of lines and shadows to be particularly attractive or interesting. I am reminded of a comment by photographer Joel Sartori: "If you want your pictures to be more interesting, stand in front of more interesting stuff."
