Contrails or Chem-Trails......what do you think?
They do make for beautiful cloud photography, even if they may be manmade

I think they are just a type of clouds (seems every possible form has a name). Compositionally I like that second to last one best. But I would crop out the house roofs. The tree tops make a "V" set of diagonals. The first couple show the weirdness of the clouds but the foregrounds and tree lines don't really do much. The very last one has some nice dynamics with a diagonal in the clouds. Yes, the second to last one is the best. IMHO :-)
could be anything in West Virginia .....but I'm guessing just cloud formations...

Assuming they were made by aircraft--they are called vapor trails for a reason. They are made by the engine or the wings and are made of water vapor.. Depending upon the dewpoint at the altitude of the airplane, hot engine exhaust meets the cold, humid air and forces the h20 is the air to condense or the trailing edge of the wing increases the air pressure and does the same thing. Yes they are chem trails and the chemical is Di-hydrogen, oxide. Which BTW is an extremely dangerous chemical which is responsible for many thousands of deaths every year. Beware These chem trails are killing us

Here's a couple more that I tried to take by shooting around or over the roof tops.

Your first one here, and maybe a couple others showing the distinct lines of clouds would be good to email one of the meteorologists at channels 12, 8, or 6 in Richmond. They would likely be able to identify cloud formations. Neat photos!

When I look out my back door and see this, it's hard not to click them...these were all taken within a couple minutes of each other as I was trying to capture the whole sky scene and this was all that I could get within each shot........and, are these clouds, too.......
Very good Silverhawk, they are just clouds.

Yes, Dihydrogen Oxide is especially dangerous when Great White Sharks are swimming in it in the Ocean. Dihydrogen Oxide rip-tides are deadly as well. Pool drownings in Dihydrogen Oxide are common, especially for the young or drunk. ;)
Looks like WAY too much vapor to be contrails to me. 'Course, I've been know to be wrong a time or two (or three, or four, ad naseum) in my 73 years.

Here's a contrail....moving through the hole in the clouds.
Beautiful to watch as it moved across the sky and the only clouds there.
