I am hoping that Admin will consider making this change since he is revamping the layout of this forum. It would be a great improvement if Admin allowed the photographer control over his own photos when they are posted. Right now, if you post a photo, you lose all control of it. It's here forever whether you want to leave it here or not. I know of no other photography forum where this happens. All it would take is to open the edit button up to longer than 30 minutes for the "add attachment" feature. This way you could edit or remove a photo if you wish. This would create more respect for the photographer's right to his own image. It would be a huge step in creating a more respectful atmosphere here at UHH.

If your proposal was allowed then it should follow that if the photo was used to open a new topic, then the whole of the topic should be eliminated. Members would not be able to link one topic to another, and critiques would be in regards to a missing photo.

Something to think about.

Thats what happens at 500px and other websites. If you remove a photo, all the comments and likes go away too. I don't see why that couldn't be done here.

The Administration, of course, would need to change the rules and currently they seem to be set in (so to say) concrete, and not likely to be changed.

I would suggest that members do not post what they would want to remove at some point in time.

I could see that if a member closed their account then all related postings related to that account would be removed also.

I did have a posting that I had requested the administration to remove, and they did so. This was done not long after I made the posting.

I should not have to make a request to do what I wish with my property.

Just wondering where this is coming from (ooops, preposition at the end of a sentence)? Is this due to scathing comments? If moderators feel that they are out of bounds they can always be removed.

It is simply about the right of the photographer to have control over his/her own property. Nothing else. 500px, Smugmug, Flickr, Zenfolio, Hotshoe, RedBubble, Facebook all respect the rights of a person posting on their sites to his/her own property. Why is it such an odd request for this site to do the same thing??

Facebook has an interface much like the one here where people can interact easily and Facebook allows you to delete any post you make.

Simple: Ask the admin to remove the thread. He does.

Why should I have to do that? Admin is revamping the site .. why doesn't he just revamp it to keep up with the times?

Bah, you want a gripe? You have it.

The solution is/was simple, I have used it and I have never been turned down so...

It seems this would be a great option to include in the revamp.

I also hope they can do something about the lousy image quality. My images look great when viewed in Photoshop. Once I upload them here, I don't know what happens, but the colors and sharpness are somewhat degraded (even if I use the download feature).

I just figured, while they're at it, might as well  I am curious what the revamp will include.
