Sitting in the dentist office today, I picked up my first copy ever of Arizona Highway. Probably a recent addition, but I didn't get the date. But the photography was some of the best I've ever seen -- maybe THE best. They had this one spread on Sedona and I wished I had copied down the photographer's name. Clearly a step above!

Arizona Highways Magazine is known for its photographic content. They are very particular about quality of that content. They always have been and, probably, always will be.

Thanks for the link -- great pictures. You don't happen to know how to get online editions of their recent issues do you? I browsed their website and couldn't find it.

Zino.com is the supplier for the digital version - they offer back issues for $3.99 ea -
https://www.zinio.com/www/browse/back-issues.jsp?productId=139285434&offerId=140954964&subscription=true&pss=1#/backissue

I quick look shows they are offering back issues from Jan 2005 to current. I did not do a detailed review so some issues may be missing.
I do not know if you can purchase older than those offered.

Years ago I had a hard cover coffee table book titled "Arizona Highways". It was primarily photos, with captions, of Native American pottery from Arizona. Excellent photography. I ended up donating it to the local college library. I wonder if it was published by the same company.

Thanks for all that. For some reason my internet is not allowing me to open attached links. Might have something to do with the terrible TSs and tornadoes that are moving through here right now.

Arizona Highways Magazine is a publication of the Arizona Department of Highways. Always top quality photography.

Arizona Highways has been around for decades and has been well-known for its stunning photography. Back in the film days most of the photos were taken with medium or large format view cameras.

Not sure if it is still true, but Arizona Highways was always published by - get this - the Arizona Department of Transportation! It was started in an effort to promote tourism! They also have lots of articles on great day trips and out-of-the way spots.

Arizona is one of our favorite spots, but we only get there every 4-5 years. Heading there next week, though! Very excited for it! Hopefully the cactus will be blooming in the Sonoran Desert!
