Got this little guy yesterday while crawling around in the bush. Yes I crawl around in the bush. . An hour later I was crouched down watching for other birds and he lands right next to me, I was crawling around in the tall grass this time. Well I got a few more shots before he took off.

Those are fabulous! LOVE the second one. Beautiful colors on all three!

By the way I have been known to crawl threw the bush and play in the mud as well! NOTHING wrong with that.

Wow! Great job! Not afraid of snakes while you're crawling around?

Good Job fstop22! It show the type of determination that it takes to get good wildlife shots. Lighten the first two up just a bit. I think it will help.

Great shots. He probably wanted to see what you were crawling around after!

Thanks MsJ
Ran across a rattle snake the other day out in the swamp of all places. It was a little dry, but don't see them other than the Pine forest. He was lost I think. Not afraid, but I do respect them.

Thanks Birdpix
The more serious I get about my shots the better they get. I spend at least 2 to 4 hrs when I go out after the shot, getting dirty is just part of the fun. When we camp I spend more time chasing these guys. PS I like them a little dark, gives me more of a feeling like I'm out there.

Hey belwj
When he flew into the grass he had to have seen me, must be my new camo hat, I look more like a bush now. A crawling Bush.

Thanks gregory,
have never seen on preen itself with me watching. Hard to shoot thru the grass, would have some killer shots if not for all the stuff in the foreground. I can get close to some of these birds, but haven't found a lens yet that will shot thru brush.

Love the pictures. So beautiful. How brave you are for crawling around. I recently bought a D5100 but cant seem to get a good clear picture of a bird. Need to practice I guess.

Thanks gregory, br have never seen on preen itself... (show quote)

I think the brush ads to the shots, shows how elusive and hard to get to. I envy you being able to sneak up on them and get such great shots
