I think your comment is sad, Bobbee. I am well travelled and have been travelling the world almost all of my life. Maybe I am an exception, but I have been welcomed as an American everywhere I go. My attitude is to be open, friendly and ready to listen. People overseas get their impressions of the USA from American movies and their country's news programs, which may be just as slanted politically as ours. When you meet other folks face to face and discuss the issues of the day they are not USA h**ers. Many, particularly in Europe, have friendly feelings towards us. They are often welcoming and friendly to any American who takes the time to talk with them. They may not agree with some our politicians, just as they don't like some of their own politicians. People are people, just like us. Yes, there are US h**ers just as there English h**ers or German h**ers or dog or cat h**ers; but they are the minority wherever you go. America does not suck, the whole world is in financial turmoil. Some countries are in the midst of a civil war. Some folks blame America and its allies for the state they are in after we and our allies tried to help. What we and our allies did was far from helpful in some cases. In other countries, such as Kuwait, the people are forever grateful. You'll notice I stress America and its allies, that's because that's how folks in war torn countries see us. Those war weary folks blame America, Britain, France, Denmark or any other ally of ours for the state they are in. That is sad when the vast majority of aid to those ailing countries comes from America and its allies. Sooner or later we will find a politician who can lead us to a new sunny upland where we will be reunited as a nation and proud of our role in the world. The sooner the better. (I'm old and starting to ramble. I'll stop now.) :thumbup:
