Just recently bought the USB dock for my Contemporary. Haven't installed it yet.

Auto focus speed increases from 20% to a maximum of 50%. What a firmware update that is. This is a popular lens on this site.

Are you saying "What a firmware update that is" in a sarcastic way or do you really mean it and think it's worth updating?

Although I bought my Sigma 150-600 C lens in May of 2015, I didn't know it was necessary to have the USB dock. I purchased one in February of 2016. Finally took the time to download it. I hope I did it right. All I did was remove the cap on the back of the lens, attach the dock to the back and then attached the included cord to that with the other end attached to my computer.

How do I know if the software is installed on my computer or on my lens, if that's what is done? Any help is appreciated.

Fairly simple instructions are available on Sigma's web site. You might want to download them and print them for reference. Also, there is a short instruction sheet which comes with the DOCK itself, although I don't recall if it contained any detailed instructions. Finally, there should be a way that, when you lens is attached to the computer through the dock, and the computer has internet access, that you can check to see if the latest firmware is installed. If those ideas don't work, post a new topic here. I've done this, I just don't recall the exact process! Best of luck.
