Okay, this is what I was talking about on Dave Chinn's Caped Crusader thread. While this may be an entertaining photo, I would not classify it as street. Had I captured the reaction of the crowd along with this dive, it would have been street. There is no context, there is no moment. It is a guy diving into icy water.

Agreed on all points; neither "street" nor "Traditional Street Photography"
edit: but of course, that depends upon who is doing the deciding; I can suggest a place where it would happily be accepted as "street".

I know it wasn't shot in Venice...but if it had been, would that be classed as street photography?

I'm just very grateful that you didn't shoot from the spot where the guy w/ the hat was standing. that would've been a frightening shot! :D gary
