I came across this yesterday using two D750s. They seemed to be setup identically, shooting in Aperture, ISO 100. When I turn the Command Dial on Camera A, the ISO changes, but this does not happen with Camera B. Usually, I have to hold down the ISO button and turn the Command Dial. The front dial controls the aperture in both cameras.

Check if you have identical settings EVERY WHERE.

I think I did that, but I'm wondering if there's some obscure setting I may have missed. This doesn't seem like a defect, and the ISO button isn't sticking. I did the two-button reset. When I turn the dial on Camera A, the display remains in the top LCD. When I press the ISO button, the rest of the display goes away, and only ISO is displayed, as it does in Camera B.

It's a setting called Easy ISO, I have it enabled on my D7000 and find it quite handy. It should be in the custom settings menu.

I have one foot out the door, There is a setting to change the function for the ISO and how it operates.
IOW's to hold the button down or not.
Then when you are finished you hit the ISO button again and it disengages the button.
I just tried it, I press the ISO button and and it come on in the big screen, I make the change for : to auto I have it off and to change the number.
Then when I am finished I hit the button again and the ISO function disappears from the screen
If you are referring to something else please do not shoot the messenger, LOL

Thanks. Got it! The manual says to go to the Menu and then Custom Menu. It should have continued by saying to go to Shooting and then Easy ISO. There are dozens of choices in the Custom Menu.

Now I have both cameras set to Easy. Easy anything is good.

If things slow down here a bit, I'll see how many items there are under Custom. :D

Did you accidentally hit the bracket button on the changing ISO camera and turn it on? A similar event happened to me and I didn't realize I had auto bracketing on.

Doing a quick check, it looks like there are about 96 choices included in the Custom menu, although I may have missed some. Then you have to consider all the other Menu headings.
