According to the range maps, our little corner of the woods in Lancaster county, PA is outside the range of the Yellowed-belly Sapsucker, which is kind of a bummer because they are such a beautiful bird. Either this bird didn't know it wasn't supposed to be there or their range is expanding...

Some maps I've seen show it but most I've seen have this narrow corridor that runs diagonally thru this part of the state that the birds don't live in. I'm hoping the corridor has collapsed and the birds will visit more frequently.

I hate spelling auto correct some times. It turned yellow-bellied into yellowed-belly. What the heck is a yellowed-belly?!
