Masking...
Do you know how to make your mask edits non-destructive or more exactly how to recall your painfully edited mask(s)?
I have a few solutions.
1) a simple selection made from a mask (Ctrl-Click on mask) then save the selection as 'mask named whatever'*
2) create an empty layer (Ctrl-Shift-N) and then copy the mask to it (Alt-Click-Drag).
The other is relatively odd and keep it 'under wrap' for now as I want to know if other folks are aware of it as it is already for other things - sometimes.

* This method is great when creating complex selections.
How many methods do you have? What are they?

After a selection is made ... I click
Channels ... then " save selection as channel " from icon below.
You can recall it by clicking channels and ctrl-click on the channel.

So a third method
3) click on channel tab, click on mask icon
A few solutions.

3) click on channel tab, click on mask icon then duplicate the channel, rename*
* As to preserve it since edits made to the mask channel are recorded and destructive. Method 1 and 2 are faster as they create/copy a mask w/o extra steps.
To recall a mask method 2 is by far the simplest: Alt-Click-Drag to use it again or repair a faulty mask after a mask edit.
