I dont know if it's the "best" per se, but I'm a fan of Betterphoto.com

I've been there for a few years now and the basic page is free (that's what I have) but you can pay for an upgraded page with loads of bells and whistles.

You could also try SmugMug. I know some people who use it.

I like smugmug the best, so far. I like the lack of clutter, the fact that I can re-arrange the photos, easily post to facebook, and I haven't even tried all of it yet. I'm sure others here have.

Here's a smugmug link to the Fantasy Fair in San Jose a week and a half ago.

I'm leary of the more public posting sites because it's so easy to "right click and save as" anyone's photos to be used or otherwise represented as the downloader sees fit.

Betterphoto disables that ability with a copyright advisement.

Sure, if a person wants someone's photo bad enough, they'll figure out a way to get it if they choose not to contact the photographer, but at least it wont be quite so easy.

I was with better photo for years and switched to Smug Mug last January. Better photo deluxe sites gives you great features such as bonus pages for links, your bio, writing articles, etc. The problem is they do not display your photo at full resolution so they don't look nearly as good online as they do on your computer. There is a lot of interaction between better photo members which is one of the things I miss, but if you have a problem with your site it takes them days to get back to you.

Smug mug displays in full resolution and photos look a whole lot better and backs up everything you download so you have an online backup. If you have a question or need help Smug Mug get back to you right away, I mean like in ten minutes right away. Smug Mug allows for a great deal of customization of your web site which is really nice.

I know about a dozen different people who have switch from better photo to smug mug or zenfollio ( which is also really good) and nobody regretted it.

No matter which one out of the three you choose you will most likely be happy.

Take a look at www.dotphoto.com . You can set up your own website and you can disable right click. They will also print and sell your photos if you wish.

Smugmug.com was made for photographers. They have 3 levels. I have generated lots of income from Smug. Try it free and see. Check out some of my favorites. www.cokerphotos.com
