Took this today. Looking for Critique while it is still alive so I can reshoot if necessary. This is 12 stacked shots. Shot with strobe and a continuous light.

From what I see . If you used 12 shots so all the parts would be sharp and in focus . I must say with regret that I can see parts through out the photo that aren't in good focus . Sorry , Tommy

I like it the colors are excellent and overall the focus is good too. There are some areas slightly out of focus so i'm wondering if it is possible to actually get everything in perfect focus. What f stop did you use, maybe that would make a difference.

I had the same thought with the focus but checked each shot and never saw the parts in question sharp. I just looked at the live flower up close it has the natural look of being out of focus. I guess this shot will always look a bit off. Thanks Tommy for stopping by.

I was using f/11 and back about 3 feet using a prime lens 105mm. As you might have seen in my previous remark looks like it is the nature of the flower to look out of focus. Thanks for taking time to stop by and comment. Jim

Thanks RicknJude. I think the concerns were, as mine, the vary center of each flower. Since this version I made all the black around the flower a solid black. I didn't see it till I viewed on my new iPad.

Jim, this is nicely done. Now, there will be some who will be more than eager to point out that there are some parts out of focus. There are, but they add a more realistic appearance to the overall image.

Thanks, Jim, for the additional information and that is good to know. I thinks you are correct, the nature of this flower might just be to look out of focus. Still, it sure is a beautiful shot.

Nice!

What do you mean by "strobe and continuous light"?

A strobe is a stand alone light that works like an off camera flash. It is usually powered with 110 but not always. You vary the brightness with a dial. The Continuous light is a constant on LED light with a dial to increase or decrease power. My LED lights are not as powerful as my Strobe. I also use black paper rolled up around the strobe light to have it send the light to just the flower and not spread. This is also called a snoot. I hope this helps. Jim
