MoMA Launches A Free Online Class On Opening Your Eyes To Photography
Thanks for posting this URL!
This is an interesting short course. There are a couple of things to know before you subscribe. If you are subscribing via smartphone or tablet, you will need to download an app called "Coursera" in order to view the videos. If viewing on a desktop, I was able to login without the Coursera app on my iMac. You will also need to register for this specific course on Coursera.
This course is more of an appreciation of the art of photography through the years as opposed to a "how to take better photos" course. The lessons revolve around interviews of many photographers (many I had never heard of). You have the option of taking the course for free or by paying $48 and receiving a certificate. The certificate path includes quizzes and lots of supplemental readings. The quizzes are not easy and require reading the supplemental articles in addition to viewing the videos!
You can go through the lessons in an afternoon and I felt the experience was worthwhile. Questions/comments?

Great explanation. Came across the course on Flipboard and immediately signed up. I do disagree on one point.

I found the course triggered memories explaining why I see things the way I do and new ideas on looking at things differently. Perhaps it is my own mindset, but I got more than history and art appreciation out of the course.
