Wow! Ken Rockwell has given an over-the-top review of a new Fujifilm - the X-Pro1. Sounds like the best camera ever made. I'll have to see what others say about it.

Yes, I have to confess i am sorely tempted. Which lens would you consider the most useful? (Street, Low light, etc) keeping my fujipro for prtarit and landscape. Sport not an issue..........

Lens? Good question. If I start researching this camera too intensely, I'll want one, and it's definitely not in my budget. I'll stick with Nikon. Otherwise, I'd have to sell all my Nikon equipment and go with this Fuji. But in a few months, I'd see something else I just had to have.

I certainly seems like a contender.

Apparently Ken Rockwell isn't much of a Leica fan, judging from his X-Pro 1 comments.

Au contraire! "The LEICA M9 is the smallest, lightest, highest-quality digital camera ever created by the hand of Man." http://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/m9.htm

But when something better comes along...

Jeez! Just got through reading his 2011 writeup on the M-9.
He scares me with his writing.
Last year the Leica M-9 was a gift from the gods. This year it has so many flaws compared to the Fuji that you'd think the M-9 was trash.
If I buy an X-Pro 1 judging from his opinion today, it may be trashed by him next year when something newer comes out.
This sure doesn't help resale values any since a lot of people take his opinions religiously.
I'd have to think twice before I took his comments seriously.

That's the trouble with progress. Things keep getting better. What was great yesterday is pretty good today. I think his review of the M9 is valid, but he is saying that the new Fuji is better. Price might be a consideration for some people, too. You could buy almost three Fujis for the price on one Leica.

That all depends on which article your reading.

His opinions contradict each other, all depends which product he's advertising. Not too long ago Leica was the cats meow.

There's always a better, a faster, a stronger ..... a smarter

If money doesn't matter then what the heck .... keep em all.

SLR's are so versatile they're hard Not to like best.

And small, pocket-able small, are hard Not to like best.

Last but not least .... high power zoom bridge cameras are also hard Not to like best.

How many hard to like best cameras are ya gonna keep .... all depends on the Money ..... right Doc?
