For those who use Lightroom how do you like it? For those who use Photoshop and Lightroom which is the eaiser to learn?

My instructor uses Lightroom and loves it. She says she can keep more than one picture up at a time to work on.

I just have an Apple so I use the photo program in there so far.

i have a demo of lightroom but have never used it. sometimes i am a slow learner. i have been working pse 7 for a couple of years and still learn new tricks it can do. i recently installed pse 9 and am trying to learn all of the different things it does. i also have corel paint shop pro 2 and it is so different from pse that i am going to have to devote a lot of time to it. so maybe one of these days i will get around to using or learning lightroom.

I have both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4 on my MacBook Pro. I use LR3 to catalog all my photos and do 95% of my post processing on it. I only use CS4 to make complex enhacemets (ie using layers). I started using LR1 when it originally came out and think it was the best decision to move to that application. Lightroom is made more for a photographers and Photoshop CS was for a graphic artist. I recommend you down load a free trail version and try it out. Also look at some training videos on YouTube for LR 3.

Ditto what Adubin says. I use LR3 for crop, lighting adjust, color adjust, sharpness adjust, in short all but complex alterations, e.g. changing background or removing power lines, on which CS5 does an incredible job. You should also try the 30 day free CS5.

I use CS5 for big edits and it is great although very complicated and hard to learn. Light room in my opinion is best for output. Copyright, watermarks, sharpening and printing.

I have LR3 and CS5, I use LR for cropping, straighting horizons, w/b correction, sorting and culling. CS5 is used for all my edits, sizing and sharpening.

I have CS5 and was very lost and intimidated by both programs. I have these because my classes requier them, and because they are requiered I get to learn how to use in the different calsses. That being said, Lightroom, once you get accustomed to the options is great and a snap to use. I would sugest getting the book for it by Scott Kelby, he does a great job of explaining, and don't be afraid to play in it. I do not upload directly into lightroom so then I don't woory if I loose a picture, it is somewhere else for me to get too.

I have Lightroom and PSE 9.0 and Aperature. I like different things about each program. I would say PSE is probably the most versatile for the money and there are classes you can take on it. I am new to Aperature but I am finding I like it for for a few things like slide show capabilities and quick adjustments. Lightroom is what I do most of my photos in that I want the best results with but I do use PSE in conjunction with LIghtroom. If you are buying your first post processing program, I'd go with Photoshop.

I use LR3 to manage my photos and do most post processing. The Sync feature is great for multiple photos needing the same adjustments. I am a PSE9 user but do not use the Organizer.
