I love Puerto Rico, your pics bring back pleasant memories of awesome vegetation, El Yunque National Forest, both Forts, and mofongo at Sam's in Old San Juan.

Thank you for sharing.

I think it's time for another trip. In 2012 I had 4 days off and my wife was able to find cheap flights to San Juan. She also booked a B & B in Ceyba. Little did we know that it was an hour out of town. It was a good thing that we sat across the aisle from someone who lived there and she gave us landmarks to look for.

The best part turned out to be the free flights. We were sitting in Denver International waiting to board and an announcement was made that they had overbooked the flight and anyone willing to fly later would receive a $500 voucher. So I called the rental car place to see if arriving at 10:45 would be a problem, they said it wasn't, and my wife went to get the voucher. As it turns out, they gave us two and actually paid us to take the mini vacation.

The down side was that Ceyba looked to be about 23 miles from the airport - it was actually twice that far and we finally got to bed about 22 hours after leaving home. It was worth it to be a bit burned out that first day and on the second we were treated to a walk on the beach in Luquillo that had only me and my lovely wife to disturb the scenery.

Thanks for the comments Mike, we always stay in old San Juan because everything is walking distance, I recommend the gallery inn or Casablanca inns they treat us wonderful , they have that old world charm.. Also we have lifetime passes for the forts being seniors.
I have spent time Diving around the island and touring so we know the good spots and the ones to stay away from..
I will publish some of the old guard in the fort tommorow.

I will be looking forward to them. It always fascinates me to look at the world through someone else's eyes.
