My house just a year ago...this destruction took under 60 seconds...I know because I was looking at my watch wondering when the roaring was going to stop...
Thankfully no damage to the house...but we lost 3 very old trees entirely...and many others were beat up pretty good.
Looks like mother natures's wrath. Glad that you all survived the storm....where was this at.

Harrison TN...just outside of Chattanooga...had another one hit here in this March just about a mile from here and destroyed a marina.
See the cat rode it out also.
Amazing. I also live in Tennessee. I think we are in tornado alley now.

please notice that the tree is destroyed but the top to the little grill is untouched
Kitty looks like she made it ok as well!
Seriously though, that is incredible the destruction that can happen so quickly. Glad to hear your house escaped largely unscathed.

seems so...we found stuff in our pasture from Alabama...bank statements...pictures...phone bills...all from a town about 100 miles from here.

The kitty was smart enough to hit the basement...hey swamp any time lapse lately?
Glad to hear everyone is ok. Mother Nature is sure not one to mess with. I agree, when watches are issued people need to get going to safe locations because by the time a warning is issued, it may be too late.

Yes these storms are really strange. You were very lucky, as you know, that your house wasn't taken as well.
About the grill. Years ago when I lived in Kansas half a
Pizza Hut restaurant was blown away but the napkins and service on the tables were untouched - go figure.
We have had them roar over us and could hear the barn roof trying to lift off, but so far on one has touched down near us. I'm in Tornado AND earthquake territory in Tn

Smart kitty!
Did you see this 28 second TL from about a week and a half ago? Look for the jet streaking by in the upper left at 21 seconds.
