I have all of my photos stored on my COMPUTER but would like to view them on my TV. So I would like to know if there is a way to do this. Sony has dlna and I am afraid of Smart phones, or smart anything because of privacy issues. Want to keep them in house. Anyone have any solutions, ideas, recommendations without breaking the bank?

Would help to know the make/model of both your TV and computer so we don't have to guess about your video card, TV inputs and the like.

Well, technically, anything that is wireless stands the chance of being intercepted. One step further, if your TV is a new one and is smart, it is connected to the internet in you house and well, you know where this is going.

Most TV's take USB drives in the back. Push you pictures to a USB and plug it in. I know this is in the category of SMART but a tablet can be plugged into the TV also. I play movies this way with HDMI cable.

Very helpful link. My brain loves this sort of (simplified) flowchart.

Too further clarify my situation. I am afraid of anything "smart" as I believe that most of the terms that are now applied to stuff is just a way for deceiving people into accepting what would normally be considered a lame choice. My main concern is my privacy. My reason for wireless is my TV is in a separate room from the computer and 40 feet away. You know walls, cords, I have an older flat screen Samsung TV not smart, my computer is a HP. I suppose I could run a USB cable but that would be problematic in a house built in the 90's. That is why I am seeking wireless. If I were to run a USB cord would I need a program on the computer to make it work? USB might be a valid option, though.
Sony's DLNA seems a choice but I am somewhat confused and I looked the Sony site to get even more confused. They told me nothing. No phone # to even call. Can anyone get any service anymore? Sorry for the vent.

Does you TV have external DVI or HDMI auxiliary inputs? If you listed the model we could look up the specs. Does your HP have a video card that has multiple output ports supporting say VGA, DVI or HDMI out. Does the video card support multiple monitors?? List the HP exact model and we can look up the specs and give you some options. You are asking us for specific help while keeping us mostly in the dark. I could type away all day with suggestions and solutions or you could tell us exactly what equipment you have and then we can stop guessing and provide suggestions that will actually work for the equipment you own.

I'm actually going out later today to buy myself an HDMI cable. Will mostly use it to hook up my laptop to the overhead projector in my classroom.
But will also use it to hook up the laptop to the tv (both have an HDMI port), as occasionally there is a program broadcast on the internet and not on tv.
(Guess I'm still old-fashioned: our tv is still hooked up to cable).

If you can wait a few days give monoprice.com a try. They have HDMI cable for less then $1.50 apiece. Shipping is cheap too. I would do the wired also but it is so far.

Your Intel HD graphics integrated chip will support either a VGA or DVI-D single output. Will not support two monitors, but you can manually switch cables between the TV and computer monitor. Cheapest, quickest solution is to just buy a DVI-D to HDMI cable to run from the PC to the TV:

http://www.amazon.com/FARSTRIDER®-Premium-Lossless-Transmission-Connector/dp/B015FBJNMY/ref=sr_1_15?
ie=UTF8&qid=1454770562&sr=8-15&keywords=DVI-D+to+HDMI+cable

Try not to use a cable longer than 20 feet or the signal will start to degrade.

You could add a video switch if you don't want to plug and unplug cables although I would suggest just using the empty PCI-e X16 open expansion slot and install and NVIDIA graphics card that can support multiple monitors at the same time.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA30R2NH6442&cm_re=nvidia_dual_display-_-9SIA30R2NH6442-_-Product
Would be a good choice. Supports dual displays (Less than $75) Has VGA/HDMI and DVI-D ports

Add a second wireless media keyboard (to your PC) and you can then control your PC from your couch while viewing the TV as a monitor: (This is my favorite)

Had a quick look at their website: didn't see that price for any cable.
Even though shipping is cheap, from the prices I did see, I can get the cable I need in a store 4 blocks away from my home for very little more...
