Just got an announcement from Adorama that Tokina will be coming out with a DX 14-20 f2.0. I don't own any Tokina lenses but this one intrigues me. Thoughts?

I'v had a Tokina 12-24 SD DX for a few years. I've found the images are quite good. There is an occasional flare that will show up - mostly due to operator error.

I have been very satisfied with their 16-28/2.8

11-16 and 24-70 are exceptional.

I also have a Tokina 15-28 f/2.8 for FF.

I have seen the Tokina 11-16 and know it is highly rated.

For a crop I would want something a little wider than a 14mm. I have the Canon 10-22mm that I value highly on my 60D.

I have a Nikon 16-35 for my ff D750 & a Nikon 10-24 for the D7200. I just really like the idea of a f2.0 on an ultra wide DX.

Why? Not challenging you but truly interest!

I have the Tokina 11-16 and it is a great lens. Very sharp and fast focusing. It's prone to flare in direct sunlight but using the hood when shooting in bright light has totally eliminated the flare issue for me.

Just a fetish I guess.....I like fast lenses. No one else, to my knowledge, makes an ultra wide DX lens this fast. I know Sigma makes a 18-35 but that's on the edge of ultra wides looking in. Enough people here have high-fived Tokinas that I will probably order one. Was looking at their 11-20 f2.8 but this one just is giving me a case of GAS.

I just wonder how .8 fast can get you that JACKED UP. I have the Korean 14 mm Prime & Tokina 16-28 both are 2.8. I also have for the crop 10-22. What I would like barring budget is the Canon 11-24 which is a f/4.

It's a full stop.....twice as much light. Even with ability of the D7200 to shoot clean at high iso, another full stop can make the difference between a good shot and an exceptional one. I like the choice that the extra stop gives me. Very seldom I need or use it, but it's there if I do.

I have a Tokina 11-16. Use on a Nikon D5200. No cons that I can see.I haven't used it a whole lot, some stunning landscape shots, the usual perspective distortion is pronounced of course as a result of the wide angle, vertical lines in structures "lean" from either side. That has become an aesthetic in itself nowdays, like Bokeh.
Took a shot on a shoreline and that distortion disappeared, got some unusual shots of forms of objects like rocks and wood in the foreground at my feet and the whole background range up to the sky that are normally impossible.

I'll add my compliment to Tokina, concerning my 16-28mm FX.

I have a Tokina wide as well and use it a primarily for real estate photography. The only times it has let me down were due to my own errors.
