A little feeble, not my usual knock em dead stuff Peter but it was not a desperately successful shoot. Wide angle lens used and no lens correction in an attempt to give it at least a bit of oomph.

Thanks for doing that, it only makes me all the more keen to go there and spend a day. But I figure it would have to be in the Winter if there is any chance of beating the tourist hordes, and you also have to avoid the Whitby Goth Weekends and all of the money grabbing tourist trap type stuff that happens there. As for the pic I agree about no lens correction, it does give it sense of height and presence but I can see your frustration too. If ever there is a place for a dramatic PP this is it, but ....... meandering people, the bane of my life.

Thanks again.

Peter

I don't think it's at all "feeble," but I honestly think if I'd made it I'd have applied some "rising front."* I think there's enough room to do it, and if it started to get stubby-looking it also has enough room to "hoist it up" a bit. It's just a personal preference rooted in my training.

*(You may already know that's a large-format view camera reference. The lensboard is kept parallel to the filn back and raised to center the image.)

I think you have a magnificent picture here. I like the HDR effect you have used. (Might not be HDR but I like the effect.) Having said that I don't like the fact that you didn't do any lens correction. I don't think the non use is doing the picture any favors. I went and straighten it before I posted my comments and I really like what I saw. Some here will bash me for my comments but it is my take on the picture.

I like it. I think without the clouds, it would be less impressive.
