MeFOTO aluminum Roadtrip Travel Tripod/Monopod kit has ball head with Arca type plate. Folds to 15.4" and supports up to 17.6 lbs. 360 degree panning, twist lock legs, one of which detaches to serve as a monopod. Carry case included. Used once so it is in like new condition. Does the center column go down on this model? I looked at the backpacker model yesterday, but the column would not lower through...so I am still looking.

Yes it goes down it's full length which is about nine inches. On the bottom of the center column is a hook for weights when needed. I bought this tripod to backpack but developed a back problem that limits what I can do.

I have one of these and I really like it. I take it hiking with me every time I go and it supports my camera with the Tamron 150-600 on it quite nicely.
