16X9 aspect ratio

My camera will shoot stills in 16X9 aspect ratio and I really like the look. My problem is that my printer won't print this aspect ratio even if I reduce the print size down to fit on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper (portrait or landscape). I have an HP Officejet 6310. I know Costco always has a problem matching aspect ratios to standard photo sizes............I don't know what would happen with a 16X9. Any suggestions?

Have them printed on 11x14 or 16x20 paper and it will print to the center of the paper.

Have them printed on 11x14 or 16x20 paper and it will print to the center of the paper. Then mat them to size.

In PS or whatever you use, resize the picture to 8 X 4 1/2 or print the full picture at about 65%.

Printing software will auto fill the photo into the paper size you select, if you turn off the autofill option, it will fit the longest side of the photo onto the paper and leave white bars/empty space on the opposite sides, which you can scissors off. I do miss my point and shoot since it offered the option to take 16x9 photos.

It's a nice aspect ratio. But why is it that no camera offers an aspect ratio for the golden rectangle? 6X4 is about 7% toonarrow and this one is about 8% too wide. 5X3 is almost perfect.

SEt you crop program to 8x10 or whatever size you want. And then put your 16X9 in the crop box and save in jpeg and then take or send it to whoever you have print it and then trim the white space off your print. - Dave

Any place you take the file to be printed can turn off the Auto Fill option and print as a NO CROP print. These will just leave extra white space on 2 sides. The next problem would be finding standard frames or mats for them, they would have to be custom made.
