Last week.

I like to go in January for several reasons including no crowds, good light, ability to drive where you must take the busses in season, and usually lack of haze. Alas it was a bit hazy last week. Fortunately Lightroom dehaze helps quite a bit.

Made the first pano in Lightroom from 4 RAW images with D5300 and 28-300. This isn't with my best lens. Still working the images and think I have a potential pano with my best lens but need to find it. The second is with the D800 and 16-35.

I'll echo Roger's comment. I prefer the non-pano image.

I was there in early April once and the light was great and no reason for dehaze. I really like your #2 image. Very nice in the download. Thanks for the view.

Me too. While the canyon is big, it is a hole in the ground. A pano kind of reduces the feeling of depth.

The last time I was there I was shooting slide film in a Mamiya C330, and it was new. (The camera, not the canyon) :)
