A few years ago, I made up picture stories and mailed them to my grandkids, nothing special, just printed up some pix and hand did the narrative in print script so the older one could read it to her sister.
Billy the cat always obliged, as acting as a cat was his specialty.
Here's an abridged version of one of these stories.

Billy the cat likes to snooze on his chair on the back porch. He keeps his ears listening and his eyes open just a tiny bit in case something happens.


Billy hears something in the woods..


..there might be something in this hole..


I'll just dig it larger for a better look


Sniffs like there is something down here


must have gone away, maybe up there in the tree


Hunting can be so tiring..

No grandkids but I used to makeup bedtime stories for my kids and sometimes put together picture stories for them.

I'm a cat person anyway, so it is easy for me to love Billy The Cat. I bet the grandkids did too. Wonderful story, simply told, but shows us all those cat-ly expressions and activities that are so familiar to cat people. Well-captured, well sequenced, and well narrated.

I hope you're still creating stories for the grandkids, these will be things that turn into family treasures.
