For your consideration....

Is there any interest to be found in this image??? I shot several different levels of these and both portrait and landscape. I like it for the graphic lines it presented under the snow cover.

I like the idea of it, Andrea, but find myself wanting a little more sunshine on the snow. Would you add a landscape orientation to this thread just to compare?

For me the footsteps distract from the impact the lines could have obtained.

If the steps had led to a view of the path disappearing into the distance it would have been quite effective. I find the angle of the steps a bit distracting. And as already mentioned, having the snow a bit brighter - and whiter - would have helped. A bit more contrast would help to bring out the geometry that you were trying to capture.

I agree that the exposure needs to be tweaked but I would crop the top since there is nothing interesting and adds nothing to the image.

Respectfully.

Here are two additional views of the steps. I have brightened the exposure level on both of them and straightened them as best I can considering that all the steps are not level in relation to the other steps. The first is a wider view and the second is a higher view.

I can see that. I wish I could have been there before there were footsteps. Thank you for your comments.

I have added two additional captures to the thread, both of which have been brightened and straightened. One has more detail of where the steps lead to. Thank you for taking a look and commenting R.G.

Thank you for looking photosbytw. See if the either of the new versions look any better.

I really, really like the first of these newest! I hadn't even realized it with the original, but seeing the ends of the beams helps me enjoy the graphic lines more. Improved contrast probably aids this also.

I also like the very slight curve the steps take. I might crop a bit off the very bottom. Not sure about the glimpse of house. Maybe more would be better, or maybe none?

Both of these are an improvement.

Hi, Andrea,
Definite interest...with my view in stutter-step mode all the way up...but I think interest might be heightened with either brighter light through the trees...or perhaps even better, with brightness at the end of the path.
Maybe a different time of day with different lighting?

Dave

Thank you Linda for stopping in again to look at the new additions. I am so new at trying to find interest in the unusual. I like this section for the honest comments it generates. Thank you for your assistance on this one.

Thank you R.G. for looking again and your assistance with this. I am just trying to figure out what makes an interesting image and this seems to be the section to get honest comments and feedback.

Thank you Dave for your comments. I will take another look at this the next time I go up to the park. Hopefully I will be there at a better time of day for the lighting. At least I know now what to do with this particular subject matter.
