I've been considering getting the Panasonic 35-100 f/4-5.6 lens for an Olympus E-M10 Mark II camera, but I wonder about two factors:
1. I think (may be wrong) this lens has image stabilization, so that would have to be turned off or it would conflict with the in camera image stabilization. Right? If so how? I don't see a switch in pictures of it/
2. What about auto focusing? Does it have in lens AF? And will that conflict with the camera's AF?
I may be assuming problems here that don't exist, but it's better to understand all this BEFORE a purchase. I know the Micro 4/3rds people on this forum will be able to help.
Note---I may be in and out this week end but will acknowledge responses when I can get to a computer.

You have to turn off the IS on the camera if the lens has it built in.
I have to do this with my 12-32.
Wow that was quick! Thanks Clint.

Don't you have a choice whether to use the IS in the lens or the OIS in the camera? Can't you turn off IS in the lens and use the camera's 5 axis OIS?

I think you're right...but it is all through the camera menu system, not on the lens. I rarely use the 12-32, so it's been a while since I've had to access that menu.
That link makes it sound like you don't have turn off IS in the menu...that the camera will automatically defer to the lens. Hmmmm.

I don't think that the camera will automatically defer to the lens. When I had my Oly EM-10, I used a Pany 45-175 and I believe that I had to turn off IS in the lens.
Is it a size thing to go with the 35-100 over the 40-150 kit?
Yes, it's much smaller, but I will get the Oly if the Pany will be a hassle to use.

There are many people who use and love the Pany 35-100 for it's size and IQ. You shouldn't have a problem with it.
Thanks h2odog, I appreciate your responses to my question, and the assurance about the 35-100.

I have an EM10 with a Panasonic 20mm and a 14-45 mm on the 14-45mm there is a switch for OIS which I leave in the off position, the 20mm does not have a switch.
I leave the OIS switched on in the camera permanently.
AF focusing works perfectly with both lenses.
I hope this helps.

I do the opposite, I switch off IS in the lenses.
The fast G-series lenses are great lenses. When used on the Oly body, switch off the IS in the lens, keep the IBIS on in the camera body. You'll love how sharp and beautiful those Oly jpegs will look!
