Hey gang

I'm just a regular guy with a Lumix bridge camera who appreciates and enjoys photography. Yesterday it rained all day so I had some time to check out Picmonkey for the first time and I Love it! There are some really cool effects and very easy to use. I even took "portraits" of my daughters and let them play around with hair highlights, lip color, suntan, teeth whitening, etc.

Without spending a lot of money on an editing program, I am still spending hours trying to do an out of bounds shot. I think it is possible on GIMP- I'll give it a try later on in the week.

Hey gang br br I'm just a regular guy with a Lumi... (show quote)

As you know, I do my OOB photos in Photoshop CS5. I have Gimp loaded and tried to do an OOB with minimal success and, I might add, a great deal of difficulty. If you really want to do these type photos you probably should spend the money for Photoshop Elements 10. I have seen prices as low as $59 for this excellent program.

Hi Jim
I broke down and bought PE 10. Am I able to create photos like yours with this software?
BTW, I love the photos on your website. I even forwarded it to a friend of mine- your work is creative and beautiful.

Let me know how it works out. They are really pretty simple using CS5. I have instructions if you need them. Good luck.

Again...thank you! I just purchased the Scott Kelby CS5 book, but have not had time to search for the OOB effect (did not see it in the table of contents), nor is it listed in the index under that name. I will continue to search for it, but if you have directions already prepared, I would love to see them. Please don't go to any special effort, however, as I will maintain my determination until I do locate the method. Have a wonderful day!

Just sent you a PM. Don't know if you will find it in Scott's book. I experimented with the process for a long time before I found the easiest way to do it. You will be able to do one in a few minutes after you read my instructions.
