I have just returned from a trip to Cuba and it was like stepping back in time.
Old Russian and US cars are everywhere, mainly used as taxis now, prices are very low and tipping is not required!!
The Cubans are very happy and smile all the time, there are no Mcdonalds or Hooters, it was heaven.
I am so glad I went before the inevitable future changes are made and ruin this beautiful country.

Nice selection, John. The chunky Russian car styles are cute. Ideal for Russian winters no doubt. The US automobile looks to have been worked on with loving care. LOL! Did we drive those clunkers? Thanks for posting.
Excellent and interesting set John. Thanks for the tour.
PLEASE ! !
Never refer a '56 Ford Sunliner as an "old american car"... That is blaspheme. For shame..... :-(

Nice set! It is an interesting and fun place to visit! That will probably change over the next ten years as the country gets flooded with American tourists and money.

I didn't want to say that but you have said it for me, thanks.
Even the Cuban people are worried about it, they are very happy with their current situation.

56?
I thought a 55?
The 56 had the wide side chrome with black groves (stamped) in the chrome.
I'd love to have that car right now!
TLC on it no doubt!

With the strong restoration market here in the US, my bet is a lot of these cars will be sold, sent back here, and restored. Or, turned into rods of some sort. It's like a time-capsule being opened.
