I got mine from Adorama, and it was used, and it is an excellent but. I paid $650, check them and also BHphoto and KEH.

It is a beautiful lens. It is available from several sellers on Amazon for about $600 as a "white box" item meaning it has been separated out of a package but is still a Canon USA product. I bought one like this and had no difficulty registering it on the Canon website. It IS a really nice lens.

Check the Canon site for their refurbished lenses. I bought mine last May for only $500!! When I saw the price, I jumped on it. I was checking the site daily for another lens, hoping to see it listed as being "in stock", when I saw this one available for a low price. Good luck!

The market is flooded with these thanks to canon. I see them all the time for less than $500. Usually separated from a kit.
