Not sure if I like this. Might be a bit harsh. Told my wife I was going out to shovel snow. She gave a a bit of a look when I went outside with a camera instead of a shovel. lol

Not one of your better works ebrunner.......maybe the shovel was a better idea.

Agreed. I followed up with the shovel and now there is no fear of a re-shoot. Time to move on. Thanks for commenting.

Unlike Frank I would never recommend a shovel! But this does not work my friend.

Alas, it was the shovel or risk a fine. Thankfully I was able to erase the evidence of this less than successful photo. I'm also glad that the delete key on my keyboard suffered no ill effects from the storm.

Hold on. I see where there seems to be a consensus that this picture isn't good. I think it's not bad. It's interesting. I like the composition. I like the patterns. I like the strong grain. The one thing I'd do is brighten it, not to the point of clipping, but it's muddier than I think snow should be. :-)

Your meter was playing tricks on you and it underexposed this by 1.5 to 2 stops. It just did what it is trained to do - made the picture middle grey. Just boost the exposure by 1.5 to 2 stops in LR and re-evaluate it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don' t think metering was the only problem with this shot. Lots of noise (shot at high ISO) and it does not appear to be in very good focus. As posted in another thread, this was not very good coming out of the camera. Should have been more cognoscente of the details. Shot in very dark light. That did not help either.
