I like the pure black background of the first, but like the color and position of the bowl in the second more.
- Can you combine the two keeping the natural color of the bowl in the second? S-

The bowl is kinda pale, so if i want to make an art shot with warmer colors, I need to use the second. But this may be used as a background for something else. When I dusted it with Murphy's oil soap, it looked darker(read warner) but the Murphy's got soaked in too fast to get a shot.

I wondered what the original color was. For me, the first is a little to bright and the second a little too dark. Where is Goldilocks when you need her? S-

I love the rich color of #2 (doesn't seem too dark to me), along with the perspective. As gorgeous as the details of the bowl are, however, I find myself wanting another element or two in the composition. Would a single long stemmed rose lying beside it be trite? :) Or maybe dried flowers?

It does feel a little like a museum piece where another element would really open it up. Well thought out! S-

The first looks like a museum catalog shot and its technically very sound. #2 the colors look way off.
Not sure what you trying to achieve with this exercise but the shots are cold and clinical records of a pot and lack impact beyond that.
Maybe that is what you after?

A friend has an etsy account and may want me to take some product shots. So I'm playing around with different backgrounds and textures. I have a couple shots with a rose out of focus in the background and another with an old time photo show casing her earrings.
St3v3m you commented on that one. Btw, thanks for your suggestions.
