When a Kenworth and a wild hen Turkey meet at 55 MPH, not much good comes from it. For either participant.

I'm the driver and all I got were a few cuts on my face, a lap full of glass and a deceased turkey in my sleeper.

Glad to hear you are ok. I have seen and heard of a lot of them type of crashes in my area. Some of the drivers or passengers here in my area weren't so lucky and got badly injured.

I had just had the windshield replaced 6 months ago because of numerous rock chips. The only advantage with it happening in Idaho and not Washington, where I live, it was cheaper to replace. All in all though, it was not a fun experience.

I'm just glad you're ok though (not majorly injured physically). Did you save the bird for a meal?

Alas, I did not save the bird. That, at the time, was the furthest thing from my mind. I rather doubt she would have been edible after the impact.

Glad you are OK, that must have been a pants-changing experience! I know it would have been for me for sure. :)

I almost had a similar experience in a single engine airplane a few years ago. I was near the airport going in to land and an eagle decided I must be Prey and dove at my wind screen. I had to do a quick evasive move or he would have come in at around 100 miles an hour.

I hit a crow once with the wing brace of a Cessna 172 I was flying some years ago, but never anything in the windscreen.

The turkeys are moving around a lot lately. I've seen more in the last 2 weeks than I did all winter trying to feed them.
