No. There is no creep in the zoom.

That is very strange, as that lens is known to have the worst lens creep of all! (I have an old one laying around somewhere and mine sure does)!

Got a question, here. What, exactly, is lens creep? I have a Tamron 28-300mm zoom lens, and if I hold the camera with the lens down, the lens will extend to the full out position. Is this what you are talking about? When I took it to my repair guy, he said that it is normal for the lens to do this, due to the fact that the lenses that compose the zoom are heavy. He also said that it wouldn't hurt anything, but it's a pain in the rear. If I don't wish to continue taking pictures, I engage the lock. I also have to say that I don't use an around-the-neck camera strap, I use an OP/TECH strap, made from wetsuit material, that attaches the camera to my hand. I like this, because since the camera is heavy, I don't have to hold onto it while walking. Can't stand having the camera hanging around my neck.
