Great details in the popcorn, quite tasty looking :)

I like the choice of blue glass bowl - excellent contrast to the rest of the scene.

I'd like to see a more interesting cover on that salt container, or if possible, a slight change in color, something that matches or contrasts the blue.

Thanks for looking and commenting. I used two lights with umbrellas and i bounced a flash to fill in the popcorn. I wanted as much DOF to keep everything sharp. I was originally going to use a ceramic bowl and changed my mind. I thought the glass was a better choice. I probably should have left the top off the salt jar.

These are growing on me NJ. Maybe the lid open laying there. Pretty well done but I have absolutely no experience with this so take what I say with a grain of that salt. Maybe a lower or higher perspective I’m really not sure.

Thanks Frank This too is a learning experience for me. The snow is no where close to stopping so I am confined to the house. I should have thought about taking the lid off the salt.

Yes, glass over ceramic would be my preference too :)

Good luck with the winter storm, Frank.

Were it my image, I would not be happy with the perspective distortion and with the background. Both are distracting, in my opinion. Also I would try to get some more interesting lighting going.

Hi Frank, when does the movie start? I don't care for the marble background, it keeps drawing my eyes away from the subject. I agree about taking the lid off the salt but leave it in. Tom

Well it is still snowing about two feet now. I used the counter because it does have a pattern. I didn't want a plain background whether it be white or some color. thanks for your take on the shot. As for perspective distortion if you could give me some ideas on it.

Hard not to agree with some of the comments. The colour of the blue glass bowl compliments the granite and the popcorn colours, maybe the popcorn would stand out better against a different background though. The lighting is even but any gain in drama would probably be at the expense of detail in the popcorn. Needs an accent piece, the salt jar is ok, maybe a different one or lid off that one and rotate it a bit.

Your storm is making the news out here. Stay safe.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to commenting. A few days ago I gave some berries a try and used a wooden table made out of barn board. So I didn't want to use the same background.

As already mentioned didn't want to use wood I did use it in an earlier still life.
The lens was a 18 to 250 mm. It was set at 66 mm for this shot
