I love the look of his feathers in this shot. It's not a great shot by any stretch of the imagination but I still like it.
It was too windy and heavily overcast.

He's looking right at you in this shot. I wonder if it's trying to be intimidating. Gary
A really nice shot for composition. It's a bit blurry. Camera shake or higher shutter speed needed?

Thanks for not calling it a Canadian Goose!
Handheld, cold and strong winds. Maybe a touch of age as well but I doubt it.

He was a Canadian goose as well as a Canada goose. If you look carefully you can see his passport tucked under his left wing.

Wind can be a real problem because it can move your whole body. Standing with your feet apart and bracing your arms against your sides will help. I carry a walking stick and that works well to brace my camera on windy days. It's still a very nice photo.
Thank you Yooper for the good advise as well as the comments. It didnt help that he was flapping those wings as hard and as fast as he could without lifting off.

We all get there (age) sooner or later. I'm there. I have to be especially careful with camera shake as my camera and lenses are a bit heavy.
Very good action shot, Keldon!
