Winter Rose 3 Manual Stacked Images

I live in Texas and have had some freezes but we keep having roses. Shot this today.
Nikon D750
24-120mm lens
ISO 100
f/8
3 separate shots for focus - manually stacked Mask on each layer
1 - Vase handle and leaves
2 - front vase
3 - rose
Strobe 1/8 power 60 deg left with umbrella
Flash right 1/32 power right small defuser

crop for 10x 14 print

Thank you friends. I was wondering if I should have lightened the living plant areas. If I did any more I would have to make a mask as to leave the black as black as it is and when I do it I most likely won't like the edges. I know how to make edges soft but they still might look a bit fake as this is such a soft velvet kind of photo.

Your image is very nice, but I think you rose was a bit too dark for the compsition. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your option. I redid the picture using Photoshop to do the stack merge. It did a better job. I then used a curve layer to get the background totally black. This was my original thought when I shot it.

You did indeed do what you set out to do, I would question, do you think the absolute black is perhaps too sever?

I don't think there is a right or wrong on this one. It's just what do you like this time. I wanted the rose to be strong and I think the black did it. Having said that I don't object with your variation. It is quite good. :thumbup: :thumbup:

I made a few minor changes one thing was the reflection on the leaf bothered me.
