Can you replace color ink with b&w ink only to print b&w prints only ? Or canyou not replace the color and use the black ink only ? I have a canon printer that has two black inks.Am i on the wrong track to remove a slight hue on my b&w prints

Usually the answer is not without installing a custom B&W continuous inking system.

Yes, but it involves custom formulated inks for each type of paper. Unless you have print heads in the cartridge, this becomes very expensive. Once you set up for an ink / paper combo, you can try to set up profiles for that ink and a different paper, but it is going to be very time consuming. Setting up paper profiles is usually the way to go if you have a LF that requires purging vast amounts from ink lines. The inks are not inexpensive, and are made per order. So the next batch will take a little fiddle time to get the same results.

Unless this is a business venture, you may be better off getting a newer system with multiple black's built in which will give you the ability to also print in color.
