I purchased a Zomei Z818c carbon fiber tripod for my trip to Az. The tripod converts to a mono pod and back, but while in AZ, my mono pod was stolen, rendering the tripod unusable.

I ordered a replacement mono pod for the tripod, but they shipped my a brand new aluminum Z818 which is basically useless for me. Because it costs so much to return it, they have asked me to attempt to sell it and recover my initial outlay.

So I have a Zomei Z818 aluminum tripod convertible in many ways for macro-photography, wide spread legs for low look, mono pod, etc. New is 140.00 plus shipping/handling.

I would insist that they pay for return shipping if they sent the wrong item. But if you accidently ordered the wrong item, keep on trucking. Sell it and so what you're doing.

No, they sent the wrong part. But return shipping is half the cost of the tripod, so they asked me if I could try to sell it here first. I only lose a couple of days and may be able to help them out.

I will press for return shipping if I can't sell it.

Kind of hard to inspire much confidence in them if they cannot supply parts for their equipment. I think I would push for a settlement deal through Amazon and have the seller pay the return shipping for the Bi-Pod (Keeping the leg you needed for an appropriate settlement amount.) One thing of note, the monopod leg of almost all these type tripod costs pretty close to 1/2 the replacement price of the entire tripod anyway, so it sounds like the return shipping cost will leave you with a net loss of $0.

I paid 120.00 for the replacement monopod to make the tripod whole again. They just shipped the wrong thing.

It's their mistake, they need to fix on their dime, not yours. Open a claim if you have to, unless you feel this is the right course of action :|

I sent them a message saying I was done playing games and for them to take charge and rectify the problem. They were willing to do so immediately, but I was able to sell the tripod and save them the hassle. They discounted the mono pod another 20.00 for me and shipped it. I should get it soon.

So in the end, it all worked out.
